Texas Barbecue Sandwiches
3/4 cup ketchup
1 small onion (1/4 cup), chopped
3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider or white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Land 'O Lakes butter
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic
1 pound thinly sliced cooked deli roast beef
6 hamburger buns, split
6 slices Land 'O Lakes Deli American cheese
Stir together all ingredients except beef, hamburger buns and cheese in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low; stir in beef. Continue cooking 15 minutes.
To serve, fill buns with beef mixture; top each with 1 slice cheese.
Yields: 6 sandwiches
