    Chicken Fried Steak

    Source of Recipe

adapted from SL Quick and Easy Recipes

    Recipe Introduction

    We really like this!

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 c flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1 lb cubed beef steaks
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    2 tbsp milk
    1 c panko crumbs
    oil

    3 tbsp flour
    1 1/4 beef broth
    1/2 c milk

    Recipe

Combine flour, salt and pepper; sprinkle on steaks.
    Combine egg and milk.
Dip steaks in egg mixture then coat with Panko crumbs.

    Spray skillet with olive oil.
Brown steaks, then reduce heat, over and let cook for 7 minutes on each side or until cooked.

    Remove steaks and set aside.
Reserve 3 tbsp drippings; discard remainder.
    Stir flour into drippings.
Cook about 1 minute then add broth and milk.
    Stir constantly until thickened.

    Serve steaks with gravy.

    Notes:
for diet reasons, I omitted salt and pepper.
    Original recipe called for:
saltine cracker crumbs rather than Panko
    chicken broth rather than beef
dash of Worcestershire and hot sauce in gravy.
