    Old Fashioned Blueberry Muffins

    Oh, these are soooooo good. wonderful flavor and crumb.

    List of Ingredients






    2 c flour
    2/3 c sugar
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon*
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c milk
    1/2 c butter, melted
    1 1/2 c fresh blueberries

    Topping:
    1/4 c finely chopped almonds
    4 tbsp sugar
    1/4 c butter
    2 tbsp butter

    Recipe





    Muffins:
    Grease 18 muffin tins.
    Preheat to 400.
    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl.
    Mix, then remove 1 tbsp and mix it with blueberries.
    Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
    Combine eggs, milk and butter; add to dry ingredients.
    Stir just until moistened.
    Add blueberries carefully.
    Spoon into greased muffin tins, filling 2/3 full.

    Topping:
    Combine all ingredients and mix until fine crumbs.
    Sprinkle topping on muffins.

    Bake at 400 for 15 to 18 minutes or until toothpick tests clean.

    18 muffins.

    Notes:
    Original recipe called for nutmeg rather than cinnamon in the muffins.
    I used unsalted butter, large eggs and low fat milk.
    I used a pint of fresh blueberries.
    Baking time was 19 minutes.
