    Rich Scones

The dough was gooey, too much to really shape it or score it. The flavor was excellent.

Source: Company's Coming - Muffins and More

    List of Ingredients

    2 c flour
    1/2 c sugar
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c cold butter or margarine
    1 egg
    2/3 c milk
    Additonal milk for tops
    additional sugar for tops

    Recipe

Mix dry ingredients and mix well.
Cut butter in with a pastry cutter until dough is crumbly.

Beat the egg in a small bowl, then add milk.
Pour into dry ingredients and stir just to make a soft dough.
Pat into two 6 inch rounds and place on a greased cookie sheet.

Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Score into 6 pie shaped wedges.
Bake for 15 minutes at 425 or until golden.
    Serve with butter.
    Makes 12 scones.

    NOTES:
I used real butter and a large egg.
I sprinkled the tops with cinnamon sugar.
When forming rounds, it was extremely gooey.
