    ASPARAGUS BACON QUICHE

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 9 inch unbaked pastry shell
    • 1 pound fresh asparagus, cut into 1 " pieces
    • 6 stripes of cooked bacon and crumbled
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 1/2 cups half and half
    • 1 tablespoon of sliced green onions
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • pinch of nutmeg
    • 1 cup of cheese your choice


    Instructions


    1. Line unbaked pastry shell with a double layer of heavy duty foil.
    2. Bake at 450 for 5 minutes
    3. remove foil and bake 5 minutes more.
    4. Remove from oven and set aside.
    5. Cook asparagus in a small amount of water until crisp tender about 3-4 minutes. Drain well
    6. Arrange asparagus and bacon in the crust.
    7. Beat eggs and cream, 1/2 cup of cheese, onions, sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
    8. Pour over asparagus.
    9. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    10. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes
    11. Reduce heat to 350 for 20-25 minutes longer until knife insered in center comes out clean.
    12. Makes 6-8 servings
