    BANANA PECAN TORTE

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 2 1/2 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 2 cups mashed ripe bananas ( about 4 medium)
    • 2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 3 1/2 cups flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
    • FROSTING;
    • 1 package (8oz) cream cheese softened
    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
    • 3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • toasted chopped pecans


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

    2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    3. Beat in bananas and vanilla.

    4. Combine dry ingredients;

    5. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.

    6. Stir in pecans.

    7. Pour into three greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans.

    8. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick insreted near the center comes out clean.

    9. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.

    10. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

    11. FOR FROSTING; beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in a small mixing bowl.

    12. Add vanilla.

    13. Spread between layers and on top of cake.

    14. Sprinkle with peacans.

    15. Yield; 12-16 servings.
