    1. SIFT TOGETHER: 2 1/2 cups flour,1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt set aside
    2. cream together 3/4 cup shortening and 1 cup sugar
    3. blend in 2 eggs and add 2 tablespoons milk, 1 teaspoon vanillaand blend well
    4. blend in dry ingredients and mix well and 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup chopped dates, 1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries and mix well
    5. shape inot balls using a level tablespoon to each cookie
    6. chrush 2 1/2 cups corn flakes roll each ball inot corn flakes place on greased baking sheet and to each cookie with 1/2 cherry
    7. bake in oven for 10 to 12 minutes in preheat oven at 375
