    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • few grains of salt
    • 1 cup meduim cream or evaporated milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring


    Instructions


    1. combine sugars and salt in saucepan add 1/2 cup cream.
    2. Cook, stirring until sugars dissolve
    3. cover sugar mixture and cook 2 minutes
    4. remove cover stir constantly and add remaining cream gradully so sugar mixture never stops boiling
    5. cook panocha syrup until soft ball forns in icy cold water.
    6. remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm
    7. add flavoring and beat until panocha is creamy (shiny appearance disappears and shape is held when dropped from spoon
    8. pour panocha into shallow 8-inch pan
    9. mark into squares when almost cool.
