    Flaky Cream-Pastry Crust

    List of Ingredients

    1-1/3 cups Bleached all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/8 tsp. Baking powder
    1/2 cup Unsalted butter, cut into pieces and chilled
    1/4 cup Heavy cream

    Recipe

    • Place flour, salt and baking powder in medium-size bowl in freezer to chill for about 15 minutes.
    • Remove from freezer; rub with fingers or use pastry blender to mix butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Return to freezer 10 minutes, until butter is firm.
    • After sprinkling mixture with cream, toss lightly with fork or spatula until the mixture starts to come together.
    • Gather dough into a ball.
    • Flatten into disk, wrap and chill 1 hour.
