    Stuffed Green Peppers

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 medium green peppers
    • 1lb. lean ground beef
    • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cups tomatoes, diced
    • 1 tbsp. Worchestershire sauce
    • 1/2 cup rice, uncooked
    • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
    • 1 can (10 0z.) condensed tomato soup
    • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. pepper


    Instructions


    1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.Cut the tops off the peppers and remove seeds

    2. Cook peppers in boiling water for 5 minutes, drain and sprinkle salt inside each pepper

    3. In a skillet, saute beef and onions until meat is browned and onions are soft

    4. Stir in tomatoes, rice and Worchestershire sauce, cover and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is tender

    5. Remove from heat and stir in cheese

    6. Stand peppers upright in an ungreased baking dish (6"x6"x2")and stuff with the beef and rice mixture

    7. Combine tomato soup and tomato sauce, stir well and pour over peppers

    8. In a 350 degree oven bake covered for 20 minutes and then uncovered for an additional 15 minutes
