    Beans: Chili Beef and Beans

    List of Ingredients

    2 pounds ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped
    28 ounces baked beans, undrained
    5 ounces butter beans, drained, rinsed
    15 ounces kidney beans, drained, rinsed
    1 12 ounces bottle chili sauce
    9 ounces chopped green chiles
    2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
    3 teaspoons chili powder
    shredded cheddar for garnish

    Recipe

    In large nonstick skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium high heat until ground beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain. In a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker, combine cooked ground beef mixture and all remaining ingredients except cheese; mix well. Cover and cook on low setting for 4 hours. Garnish individual servings with cheese. Makes 10 cups.

    To prepare on stovetop, combine all ingredients in large saucepan; cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. If desired, keep warm in slow cooker.
