1 qt. milk
3/4 c. regular Cream of Wheat
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cut up almonds
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
cereal crumbs or vanilla wafer crumbs
2 eggs beaten
oil for frying Recipe
When milk starts to boil, add sugar and stir, then add Cream of Wheat and salt; cook for about 15 minutes. When almost cooked, add nuts and flavorings. Mix thoroughly. Spread 1-inch thick in a greased pan (use Pam). Refrigerate overnight. Next morning, cut in diamond shapes; dip in 2 beaten eggs; roll in fine vanilla wafers or Post Toasties crumbs. Fry in deep fryer with oil at 375 degrees Drain on paper towels. Spraying Pam on the knife will help to ease cutting.
