Grandma's Swedish Meatballs

1 large egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup stale breadcrumbs
1 2/3 pounds mixed ground beef, pork and veal
1 small onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons dried dill weed
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/3 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/3 cups beef broth
salt and fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
Recipe
Beat the egg in a medium bowl. Add milk & bread crumbs. Mix well. Add the meatloaf mix, onion, salt, 1/4 teaspoon dill, cardamom, allspice and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg. Mix with your hands until well blended. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. With lightly floured hands, shape meat mixture into 16 meatballs. Melt butter in pressure cooker and stir in flour. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Add stock or broth, remaining 1 teaspoon dill, salt & pepper to taste, plus freshly grated nutmeg if desired. Stir until smooth. Carefully add meatballs. Close pressure cooker and bring up to full pressure. Reduce heat to stabilize pressure and cook for 10 minutes. Release pressure and add cream, gently stirring so cream is well blended into sauce. Heat, if necessary, without letting the sauce come to a boil.
