Chili Sambuca BBQ Sauce

3 cups ketchup
1 cup molasses
6 tablespoons dark brown usgar
3 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons sambuca or other anise flavored liquor
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon chile garlic sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 canned chipotle peppers, minced, with 2 tsp can juices Recipe
Combine the ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, liquid smoke, mustard, worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, sambuca, honey, chile garlic sauce, soy sauce and the chipotles and their juices in a nonreactive saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Let the sauce simmer until richly flavored, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
If not serving immediately, let cool to room temp. Transfer to clean glass jars and place a piece of plastic wrap between the jars and the lids to keep thelids from corroding. The sauce will keep, refrigerate, for several months. Makes about 5 cups.
