Jack Daniel's Apricot Ham Glaze

2 1/2 c water
12 oz. can pineapple juice
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup teriyaki glaze (a basting sauce....this is thicker than teriyaki sauce...I use Cheriyaki brand, which adds a slight cherry taste)
1 T vegetable oil
3 T fresh minced onion
1 1/2 T soy sauce
1/4 c Jack Daniel's whiskey
3/4 c apricot or pineapple preserves
8 dried apricots, chopped fairly small
1/2 T chicken broth powder
sprinkling of black pepper
a little onion powder
2 t cornstarch Recipe
Mix 2 1/4 cups water and all other ingredients except for the cornstarch. Bring to a boil, and let simmer on fairly low heat for about 50 minutes, stirring occasionally until boiled down a bit and somewhat thicker. Then add the 2 t cornstarch diluted in 1/4 cup water, and simmer another 15 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2--4 cups.
