Steak: Chile-Basil Grilled Flank Steak

1 lb. beef flank steak
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup chili sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1/4 tsp saltRecipe
1. Score steaks on both sides diagonally in a crisscross pattern about 1/4-inch deep. Place steak in a 12x8-inch (2-quart) baking dish or resealable food storage plastic bag. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients; blend well. Pour over steak; turn to coat. Cover dish or seal bag. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight, turning once.
2. Heat grill. When ready to grill, place steak on gas grill over medium-high heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals. Discard marinade. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until of desired doneness, turning once.
3. To serve, slice steak diagonally into thin slices.
Makes 4 servings.
