2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Each baking soda and salt
1/3 cup Butter
1 Egg
1/3 cup Dairy sour cream

In a medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, vanilla sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using a pastry blender or two table knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center. In a small mixing bowl, beat egg slightly; stir in sour cream until smooth. Stir in milk. Add egg mixture all at once to the flour mixture. Using a fork, stir just until moistened.
Drop dough from a slightly rounded tablespoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Sift powdered sugar over the tops. Serve warm. Yield: About 12 biscuits.
