List of Ingredients
3 packages dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup liquid Butter Buds or Promise Ultra -- fat free margarine
1/2 cup molasses
1 teaspoon lite salt
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 3/4 cups hot water
4 1/2 cups bread flour or all purpose flour -- (4 1/2 to 5)
2 tablespoons liquid Butter Buds
Recipe
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine 1/4 c. liquid Butter Buds, molasses, salt and cornmeal til it resembles brown sugar. Add yeast/warm water mix to cornmeal mixture. Add half the hot water and 2 c. flour and blend. Add 2 1/2 c. flour and remaining water and blend. Add the remaining 1/2 c. flour if needed to make an elastic and not sticky dough. Shape into a ball.
Place into a bowl sprayed with nonfat cooking spray, and cover with a towel. Allow to rise for 1 1/2 hours until double in size. Punch down and shape into two round loaves and place on cookie sheet. Cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour. Brush with 2 tbl. liquid Butter Buds and bake 60-65 minutes at 350ºF. Cool on wire racks. Yield: 2 loaves
