    Sister's Southern Corn Bread

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup butter, melted and divided
    1 cup sour cream
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    2 tablespoons water
    2 large eggs, lightly beaten
    1 1/2 cups self rising cornmeal

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 400ºF. Grease bottom of 9" round cake pan with 1 tbl. melted butter; set aside. Combine remaining melted butter, sour cream, buttermilk, water and eggs. Add cornmeal, stirring until moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden. Makes 8 servings.

    MUFFINS: Grease muffin pans with 1 tbl. melted butter. Prepare batter as directed; pour into prepared pans, filling 2/3 full. Bake at 400ºF for 18-20 minutes or until muffins are golden. Remove muffins from pans immediately. Batter should be thin enough to pour and shouldn't show tracks of the spoon when you stir it; if batter is too thick, just stir in additional buttermilk or milk. Yield: 1 dozen.
