Nut: Butter Pecan Bread

2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup broken pecans
Recipe
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg together into mixing bowl. Blend brown sugar. Combine beaten egg, buttermilk and melted butter. Add flour mixture, stirring until flour is moistened. Stir in pecans. Pour into lightly greased and floured 9 1/2 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake in 350ºF oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan. Cool completely on cake rack.
