    4 eggs
    1 cup honey
    1 cup orange juice
    1/4 cup brandy
    1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    2 tablespoons grated orange rind
    2 cups chopped almonds
    3 cups bread flour
    2 cups rye flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cardamom
    1 teaspoon pepper

    Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray 2 9x5-inch loaf pans with non-stick vegetable spray. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until thick and lemon-colored.  Add honey; beat well.  Add orange juice, brandy, almond extract, and orange rind; stir until blended.  Fold in almonds. In a medium bowl, combine flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom, and pepper; stir into egg mixture until just moistened.  Pour into prepared loaf pans; smooth tops. Bake 45 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center of the loaves comes out clean.  Cool in pans for 10 minutes.  Serve warm or cold.
