    List of Ingredients




    2 tablespoons yeast
    1/2 cup warm water
    2 cups rolled oats
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 cups boiling water
    1/2 cup molasses
    5 1/2 cups bread flour (up to 6 cups)
    4 teaspoons salt

    Recipe



    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water (115ºF). Set aside. In large bowl, place oats and butter. Pour in boiling water. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in yeast, molasses, and salt. Stir in flour to make a firm dough. Knead 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Let rise 1 hour. Divide into 2 loaves. Let rise to doubled. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with oats. Bake at 400º for 35-40 minutes. Makes 2 loaves
