1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup milk, scalded
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
3 cups flour Recipe
Soften yeast in warm water and let sit until foamy. Combine scalded milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool mixture to lukewarm and then add to yeast mixture. Add beaten egg and flour, then knead; let rise. Punch down and shape into rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 400¼F for 12-15 minutes.
