List of Ingredients

1 pound smoked sausage
6 slices bread -- cubed
3 cups lowfat 1% milk
6 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 pound lowfat cheddar cheese -- grated
1 can chopped green chiles (optional)


Recipe

Butter a deep casserole. Brown sausage and drain off fat. Beat together eggs, milk and seasonings. Layer bread cubes, sausage, cheese, bread, etc., until all ingredients have been used (save some cheese for topping). Pour liquid mix over the top and refrigerate overnight. Bake in a 350ºF oven for 1 hour. Can add mushrooms, olives or chiles to suit your taste.
