Baked Cranberry Oatmeal

1 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
3 cup milk
6 tbl brown sugar
1 1/2 tbl butter or margarine
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cup finely-chopped apples
3/4 cup dried cranberries
3/4 cup coarsely-chopped walnuts pecans or peanuts
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat square pan (9-inch) with nonstick spray.In a large saucepan, bring the milk, brown sugar, margarine, and cinnamon to a boil.
Concurrently, in a large mixing bowl, mix together the oats, chopped apple, cranberries, and nuts; spread evenly into the prepared pan.When the milk mixture begins to boil, pour out evenly over the oatmeal mixture.
Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the liquid has been absorbed and the oatmeal is tender.Cut the mixture into 6 servings, scooping each out into a cereal bowl. Garnish with a sliced apple (if desired).This recipe yields 6 servings.
