1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped dried apricots
1/4 cup chopped dried apples
1/4 cup chopped dried prunes
1 cup hot water
3 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups puffed rice cereal
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
2 tablespoons shredded unsweetened coconut
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Recipe
Preheat oven to 250ºF. In small bowl, soak raisins and dried fruit in hot water, til soft, 15 minutes. In large bowl, combine oats, rice cereal, nuts, dry milk, coconut, honey and cinnamon. Add fruits with the soaking water. Stir to mix well. Spread mix on baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. Remove from oven and cool. One serving is 1 c. To store, place in airtight container for up to 1 week.
