2 cups flour
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
1 pinch salt
2 eggs
Recipe
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles bread crumbs (approximately!). Toss with 1/2 c currants (you could substitute raisins if needed). Beat 2 eggs lightly. Add 2 tbsp milk and add to dry ingredients. Mix to stiff paste (dough). Roll on floured board 1/4" thick. Cut into 2" rounds. Bake on lightly greased griddle (about 325-350ºF) until golden brown and edges are firm, turn once and cook other side.
