Coffeecake: Coffee Cake with Streusel Filling

List of Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

FILLING:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter -- melted
1/2 cup nuts -- finely chopped


Recipe

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Blend in egg and milk, then add vanilla and beat well. Pour 1/2 batter into a 9x9" pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of Streusel mix. Add the rest of batter and filling. Bake for 25 minutes at 375ºF. Streusel filling: mix dry ingredients with butter and nuts.
