    Ring: Danish Almond Crescent Ring

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup sugar
    3 tablespoons butter
    3 1/2 ounces almond paste, broken up
    8 ounces refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
    1 egg, beaten
    2 teaspoons sugar
    4 tablespoons sliced almonds

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease cookie sheet. In small bwl, combine sugar, butter and almond paste with fork until well mixed. Set aside. Separate dough into 2 long rectangles; overlap long sides 1/2 inch to form 1 large rectangle. Firmly press perforations to seal. Roll out to form 16x9 inch rectangle; cut lengthwise into 3 equal strips.

    Spoon 3 tbl. filling mixture evenly down center of each strip. Gently press filling to form 1" wide strip. Fold sides of dough over filling; firmly pinch edges to seal. On greased cookie sheet, loosely braid the 3 filled strips. Form braid into a ring and pinch ends of strips together to seal. Brush with egg, then sprinkle with sugar and almonds. Bake at 375ºF for 15-22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes, then remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm. Serves 8.
