    Skillet & Meat: Creamed Sausage and Mushroom on Toast

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped medium
    1/2 pound bulk breakfast sausage
    1/2 cup onion, minced
    3 tablespoons butter
    3 tablespoons flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    1 cup milk

    Recipe

    In a nonstick saute pan, crumble the sausage and cook until all is crumbled and a uniform gray. Add the onion and saute for 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cover, stirring pan frequently, until mushrooms are all done. Drain. Melt the butter in a separate large saute pan and add the flour, stirring until very smooth. Gradually add the milk, stirring to make a smooth mixture. Cook very slowly until thickened. Add the sausage mixture and stir to combine. Serve over toast, English muffins or how you will.
