Fresh Apple & Cinnamon Sauce
1 apple, peeled, cored and grated
1 teaspoon butter
1 cup apple juice
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon sugar or honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon powdered cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmegRecipe
In a saucepan, saute apples in butter until softened. Stir together juices and cornstarch until blended. Add to the apple mixture with rest of ingredients and simmer mixture, stirring, until sauce is slightly thickened and clear, about 10 minutes. Place in a jar with tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator. Makes about 2 1/4 c. sauce. Good served over frozen yogurt, pancakes, french toast or sponge cake.
