Recipe Introduction
Buny's Note: We tried this and skipped the Parmesan, added a layer of smoked Swiss. I think it would also be great with shaved ham or thin sliced tomatoes in it. Hubby said they were "too cheesy" - I thought they were awesome. I suspect they'd be really good as a platform for a fried egg on top, or sloppy joe topping, etc. Never had a grilled cheese sandwich I had to use a fork for before!
List of Ingredients
8 slices Texas Toast (thick sliced) bread
1/4 cup butter, melted
fresh grated Parmesan cheese
4 slices American cheese
4 slices provolone cheese
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 slices mozzarella cheese
Recipe
Melt butter in microwave. Brush on 1 side of each slice of bread and dip into parmasan until generously covered. Preheat large skillet on medium and add 1 tablespoon butter to coat pan. Put 2 bread slices, parmasan side down in preheated pan. I like to cook 1 sandwich at a time, so I place american and mozzerella on one side and provolone and cheddar on other side. Cook until golden brown and place sandwich slices together. Cook appox 15 seconds more for cheeses to melt together. Repeat with remaining sandwiches. Serve immediately.
