    1 cup walnuts
    1 1/4 cups flour
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup flaked coconut
    1/3 cup sugar
    8 ounces cream cheese
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling

    Recipe



    Chop 1/2 c. walnuts coarsely-reserve for topping. Chop remaining 1/2 c. walnuts fine. Combine flour, brown sugar & butter. Blend to fine crumbs. Add coconut & finely chopped nuts. Mix well. Reserve 1/2 c. of this mixture. Pat remaining flour mixture into 9x13 greased & floured pan. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350¼F until edges are light brown. Mix sugar & cream cheese. Stir in egg & vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread over hot layer. Bake 10 minutes longer. Remove & spread with cherry pie filling, sprinkle with remaining walnuts and reserved crumb mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Cool. Serve as is or top with whipped cream or ice cream.
