List of Ingredients
4 to 6 large Granny Smith apples OR 2 cans apple pie filling
8 (2-1/2-in.) graham cracker squares
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, melted Recipe
Peel and slice apples; put in a microwave safe glass bowl.
Finely chop graham crackers (I cheat and break them up with my hands). Combine graham crumbs, sugar, oats, flour, and spices. Add melted butter; mix well. Spoon mixture over apple slices.
Microwave on high for 12 to 15 minutes or until apples are tender, turning dish after 6 minutes. Cool slightly.
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
TIP: If using canned apple pie filling, just put the filling in the bowl, mix all the other ingredients, and spoon over filling. I like to cut the cooking time to about 6 or 8 minutes, as the apples are already tender.
