Three Berry Cobbler

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
4 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, firm
1/3 cup hot water Recipe
If berries are frozen, do not thaw prior to preparation. Heat oven to 400¼F. Grease 4 quart casserole dish. Mix granulated sugar and cornstarch in large bowl. Add berries and lemon juice; toss with sugar mixture. Spoon into casserole. Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in large bowl. Cut in butter, using fork or pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in hot water until mixture forms a soft dough. Spoon dough over berry mixture. Bake 35-45 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and fruit is slightly thickened. Serve warm with ice cream or heavy cream. Makes 12 servings.
