    Recipe Introduction

"This cookie was the #1 cookie during the 1999 Holiday Season. Crunchy on the outside - moist on the inside! I usually make a double batch"

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup butter (1 and 1/2 sticks)
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 cup molasses
    1 Tblsp. ground ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 and 1/2 cups flour

    Recipe

Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar. Beat until light. Beat in the egg and the molasses In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients with a wire whisk. Add dry ingredients little by little to creamed mixture.

Form into small balls, roll in more granulated sugar* and place on ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

*Stella's NOTE: I put 3/4 of a cup of sugar in a zip lock bag and toss the cookie balls in and shake bag to coat the balls.
