Desserts: Cranberry-Nut Holiday Tarts

1/2 cup butter (no substitutes) -- softened
1 3 ounce pack cream cheese -- softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter (no substitutes) -- melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh cranberries
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Recipe
BEAT together the 1/2 cup butter and the cream cheese in a small mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till combined. Stir in four till combined. Cover and chill about 1 hour or till dough is easy to handle. FOR FILLING, beat together egg, brown sugar, the 1 tablespoon melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in chopped cranberries and walnuts. SHAPE dough into 1-inch balls. Press each ball onto bottom and up sides of an ungreased 1 3/4-inch muffin cup. Fill each with 1 rounded teaspoon of filling. BAKE in a 325�F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till filling is firm. Cool tarts slightly in pans on wire racks. Remove tarts from pans and cool completely on racks. Makes 24.
