Desserts: Frosty Strawberry Squares

1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 egg whites
1 cup sugar (up to 2/3 c.)
2 cups frozen strawberries, thawed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 cups cool whip
Recipe
Mix first four ingredients together well and pour into a 9x13 baker. Spread the crumb mixture evenly across bottom of pan. Bake at 350¼F for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Let this cool when out of oven. Now, take 2/3 of this crumb mixture and sprinkle into another 9x13 baking pan. Combine egg whites, sugar, frozen strawberries, and lemon juice. Mix at high speed for 10 minutes until stiff peaks form. Fold in cool whip and spread over crumbs in pan. Top with remaining crumb mixture. Freeze this overnight. Cut into squares and serve. To garnish this, first drizzle plate with strawberry syrup and place a strawberry square on top of this. Next, take a fresh strawberry and slice below stem in strips (be careful not to cut through stem). Fan the strawberry on top of the square for a great look.
