Recipe Introduction
"This spicy snack mix is sure to be a hit with the adults and the children at your party. I like this mixture to be quite hot, but the directions below are more for a spicy flavorful snack mix rather than a hot one. Add additional cayenne pepper or even some tabasco sauce for a more fiery mix. If you use salted pecans and/or pumpkin seeds omit the salt from this recipe and use a low sodium soy sauce. Adjust the salt most way through the roasting to your taste. These keep very well and can be made several weeks ahead of time if stored correctly. "
List of Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
dash cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 pound chopped pecans
1 cup pumpkin seeds
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the butter in a large roasting pan and place in the oven until melted. Add the soy sauce and spices and mix well. Add the pecans and pumkin seeds. Toss to coat. Roast for 20 minutes. Cool and place in a tightly sealed bag or container until ready to serve.
