    Breakfast: Maple Fennel Country Sausage Patties

    List of Ingredients

    1 teaspoon coarse salt
    1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper
    1 teaspoon fennel seeds
    1 pound ground pork
    2 tablespoons maple syrup
    1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil

    Recipe

    Combine salt and pepper, fennel in the bottom of a bowl. Add pork and mix to combine spices. Pour 2 tablespoons maple syrup over the pork and work the meat again to combine the maple syrup. Form meat into patties, 2 to 3 inches round. Cook patties in 1 tablespoon oil in a nonstick skillet over medium high heat 4 or 5 minutes on each side. Drain sausage patties on towel lined plate, then serve. Serves 4
