Stuffing: Mom's Best Cornbread Dressing

20 ounces prepared cornbread
2 cups soft bread crumbs
5 cups chicken broth
2 onions, chopped
4 celery ribs, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound sausage
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper Recipe
Crumble cornbread (about ten 2" muffins) and soak in a bowl with soft bread crumbs and chicken broth. Stir until the liquid is absorbed.
In a skillet, sautÈ chopped onions and chopped celery ribs in butter until tender. Add sausage, cook on low until browned. Drain off the fat and add to the bread mixture. Stir in eggs, salt, and pepper.
Spoon into a greased 13" x 9" baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until lightly browned.
