    1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus, trimmed
    16 slices sandwich type ham
    6 tablespoons butter
    6 tablespoons flour
    2 cups milk
    1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    6 green onions, thinly sliced

    Recipe



    Blanch asparagus to crisp tender. Spread one side of each ham slice with prepared mustard. Roll ham around 2-3 asparagus spears. Layer rolls, seam side down, in a 7x11 inch baking pan. Set aside. In saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Slowly stir in milk, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook and stir until thickened. Stir in cheese and add onions. Pour sauce over ham rolls. Cover and bake at 350ºF for 20 minutes. Yield: 8 servings.
