List of Ingredients
2 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons shortening
2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1" cubes
1 cup water
2 large potatoes, sliced 1/8" thick
2 cups sliced carrots
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crushed cerealRecipe
Brown onions in fat, add meat and water, cover and simmer for 50 minutes. Heat oven to 350ºF. Pour meat into large baking dish. Place carrots over meat, and potatoes over carrots. Blend soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper, and pour evenly over the potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese and top with crushed cereal. Bake uncovered for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
