    Hamburger, Rice & Cabbage Casserole

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 medium-size head cabbage shredded
    1/2 cup uncooked rice (not Minute rice)
    1 pound ground beef
    1 jar spaghetti sauce (15 ounces)
    Salt to taste
    Pepper to taste
    Minced onion to taste
    2 cups shredded Cheddar or mozzarella cheese

    Grease 2-quart or 9x13-inch casserole. Place half the shredded cabbage in casserole, spreading evenly. Sprinkle rice over it. Crumble the ground beef over top and add minced onion and seasonings as desired. Spread on spaghetti sauce. Top with remaining cabbage and press down lightly with fork. Then cut through mixture with fork.

    Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Turn off oven. Remove casserole from oven; remove foil. Top with shredded cheese. Place casserole, uncovered, back into oven until cheese melts. Makes 12 to 16 good-size servings.
