Hash Brown Potato Casserole

2 pounds frozen hash browns (country style)
3/4 cup melted butter or margarine -- divided
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups sour cream
2 cups corn flakes -- crushedRecipe
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Thaw potatoes and combine with 1/2 cup butter or margarine, salt, pepper, soup, cheese, onion, and sour cream in casserole dish. Combine corn flakes and 1/4 cup melted margarine or butter. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake for 45 minutes.
