"Jennifer Olvera Comments: This recipe was very good except for one flaw, it calls for a bit more ginger than I would have liked. Instead of using molasses I used honey and it turned out wonderful! To give it maximum flavor every 5 mins I remarinated the chicken and turned it every 5 mins. When you taste the sauce by itself it seems to bit a bit strong, but once you have it with the chicken it's delightful! "
List of Ingredients
4 chicken drumsticks, skin-on or skinless
1/4 cup apple butter
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 apples, cored and sliced into 8 wedges eachRecipe
In a medium bowl, stir together apple butter, molasses, ground ginger, salt and pepper. Add the drumsticks and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Preheat broiler. Line a broiler pan with aluminum foil and then set the drumsticks in it. Broil 13 to 15 minutes, turning the drumsticks occasionally and brushing them with the marinade. Serve with apple slices.
