    List of Ingredients




    1 pound lean ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 tbl jalapeno peppers stem & seeds removed chopped 1 to 2
    14 1/2 ounces no salt added stewed tomatoes undrain
    15 ounces no salt pinto beans undrained
    1/2 cup water more as needed
    1/4 cup stout or beer
    1 tablespoon no salt chili powder
    2 teaspoons ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano crumbled
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    1/8 teaspoon cayenne optional

    Heat a Dutch oven over high heat. Cook beef until brown, 3-4 miknutes, stirring frequently. Put beef in collander and rinse with hot water to remove excess fat; drain well. Wipe Dutch oven with paper towels.

    Reduce heat to medium-high. Return beef to Dutch oven and add onion and jalapeno. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until onion is translucent, stirring occasionally. Stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour and 30 miutes, stirring occasionally. Add water as needed for desired consistency.
