"This is the Skyline type chili found in Cincinnati. It's pretty spicy and really good. It is served over spaghetti with toppings. The spices make it different from spaghetti as most people know it."
List of Ingredients
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup dry onion flakes
1/2 cup Chili powder
2 tablespoons cocoa or carob
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cardamom
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cilantro or coriander
CHILI
2 pounds lean ground beef cooked until no longer pink
2 cans (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 cup Cincinnati Chili Mix Recipe
Use 1/2 cup mix for 1 recipe of Cincinnati Chili (8 servings)
Do not brown meat. Cook just until no longer pink. Add the tomato sauce, vinegar and chili mix and simmer for about 30 minutes. You may need to add water to thin down the sauce to the consistency you prefer.
