Overnight Dutch Oven Chili

2 lb. ground beef
1/4 C. vegetable oil
1 medium onion ; chopped
3 cans sliced stewed tomatoes 14 oz.
2 cans clear beef broth 14 oz.
1 can French onion soup 10 oz.
1 can tomato soup 10 oz.
20 oz. V-8 juice
2 cans red kidney beans 1 lb. undrained
4 T. packed light brown sugar
1 T. dark vinegar
2 T. chili powder
1 T. cumin powder
1/8 tsp. ground anise optional
1/2 tsp. garlic salt Recipe
In a 6-quart Dutch oven, brown ground beef in oil until all the pink is gone. Crumble with the back of a fork while it is browning. Remove from heat, and add remaining ingredients. Cover Dutch oven, and bake at 275F for 15 hours. Serves 8 to 10 and leftovers freeze well.
