Asparagus: Ziti with Roasted Asparagus

2 tablespoons olive oil
¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
2 pounds asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 package (16 ounces) ziti
1 cup half-and-half or light cream
¾ teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 cup toasted pecans, coarsely chopped
Recipe
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine oil and rosemary in 13x9-inch baking pan. Place in oven until oil is hot, about 4 minutes. Add asparagus; toss to coat with oil. Roast asparagus, tossing occasionally, until tender, about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in large saucepot, cook the ziti as label directs. Drain.
In 12-inch skillet, heat half-and-half to boiling over medium heat; cook 5 minutes. Stir in lemon peel, salt, and pepper. Add pasta and asparagus; toss to coat. Transfer to warm serving bowls and sprinkle with pecans. Makes 6 main-dish servings.
